I am a sharepoint administrator. I am trying out the image upload solution with aim to buy a license as soon as am done with the poc.

Having created a list item, I created a new list display form via sharepoint designer 2010. But the image column won't show rather it shows just the url of the image.

Could you kindly help with a solution to fix this, I will be glad to have it as soon as possible.

Thanks.

Hello,

By default, if you create custom Display item form, SharePoint designer inserts the folowing code:
Quote:
xsl:value-of select="@ImageUploadFieldName"/

instead of current field control.
So, you should replace code above for Image Upload column to the following:
Quote:
SharePoint:FormField FieldName="ImageUploadFieldName" runat="server" ControlMode="Display"

where ImageUploadFieldName - InternalName of Image Upload column in your SharePoint list.

Let me know if you have any question.

Best Regards,
Yura Stetsuk

This tool works perfectly on out-of-the-box display forms. However, I have a use case similear to the one posted here where I need to create a custom display (Data Form Web Part). I've tried replacing this code in a DFWP as described here but the image does not display. In SharePoint Designer I see "[FormField]" displayed in the Design pane after changing this code but when I open the page the field is not populated with an image. Are there other code level changes that I need to make in order to display an item's image upload column image in a DFWP?
