Credit Cards, cash and ATM
National Ukrainian currency is Hryvnia. You can find official exchange rate of Hryvnia
against foreign currencies at the
National Bank of Ukraine site. Visa or MasterCard are the most popular payment
cards in Ukraine. You can use them at the majority of stores and hotels, but cash
is still the most convenient way to pay for goods or services. You can exchange
your cash to Hryvnia in exchange points. They are usually located in the streets,
stores and hotels. Please, keep in mind that the rates in exchange may slightly
differ from official ones.
You can also use ATM to withdraw cash. There are a lot of ATMs in the streets.
Tips aren’t necessary, but they certainly can be paid for a good service. There
isn’t any rule how much tips to pay, 5%-10% is enough in most cases.
